Stevens johnson syndrome- toxix epidermal necrolysis
Allergy, immune reaction, hypersensitivity !
victim or not victim?

According to our information, allergy is a reaction via IgE (Immunoglobulin E); stevens johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis is an immune reaction via T cells (or T lymphocytes). In a thesis on the Steven Johnson syndrome(C Vechot 2005 faculty of pharmacy paris 11th) the author does not also speak of this syndrome as an allergy, but a hypersensitivity reaction (see also our home page ). Note that hypersensitivity implies that the problem is due to the victim and not the drug. This kind of speech which many victims have heard is blaming the victims. One might think that this kind of pre-formated speech intends to avoid lawsuits in the pharmaceutical industry ; and also avoid to pay damages that victims are legally to claim.
